Expenses, subscriptions, and renewal drafts
Profit after fees isn't profit until overhead is paid. The Expenses screen holds both one-time costs (supplies, equipment, ad spend) and subscriptions — recurring tools whose renewals post themselves to the ledger.
Subscriptions are built around one rule: money is never assumed.
- Attested history posts automatically. Import a subscription with its real charge history — dates and amounts, including intro prices and mid-life price changes — and each charge posts as a linked expense. Click any subscription row to see every charge it has ever posted.
- Future renewals appear as drafts. When a renewal comes due, it shows up as a pending draft you confirm (posts the expense — and you can correct the price), or decline (marks the subscription cancelled). Nothing hits your books until you say it happened.
- Documents attach to the money. Invoices, receipts, and cancellation emails attach directly to expenses, subscriptions, and purchase orders — drag and drop photos or PDFs — so the paper trail lives next to the numbers it justifies.
The Overview's cash-flow chart and "net after overhead" tile fold all of it into the only question that matters: after everything, is the business making money?
