Docs — TCGMargin

Everything the app does and the reasoning behind the numbers. The same articles are available inside the app under Help.

Quick start: from empty to profitable in four steps — The minimum path: channels → product → purchase order → sale.
Importing your order history — Bring in Shopify / eBay / TCGplayer order exports and build your catalog from them.
Channels: fees, shipping assumptions, and the preferred channel — What each fee field means and why the top channel matters.

Landed cost & the moving average — How multi-currency purchases become one true USD cost per unit.
Margin vs. markup (profit basis) — Two ways to state a profit target — and why they give different prices.
Break-even, target price, and the loss guard — The three prices the app computes and how it stops accidental losses.
Preorders: selling before you buy — Presold units, retroactive costing, and the "pending" profit state.
Product breakdowns — Opening cases, boxes, or bundles into products you sell individually.
Draft purchase orders (quotes) — Price a supplier quote before committing — perfect for preorder planning.

Recording a purchase order — Lines, currencies, shipping & fees, invoice photos.
Recording and editing sales — Multi-item orders, shipping, discounts, and inline editing.
Organizing products: languages, labels, search, ordering — How the inventory is grouped and how to find things fast.
Opening balances: starting mid-stream — Book stock you already own — without inventing paperwork you never had.
Write-offs, giveaways, and personal use — Inventory that leaves without revenue — record it honestly at $0.
Expenses, subscriptions, and renewal drafts — Overhead with receipts: charge history, drafts you confirm, documents attached.
Trades & collection buyouts — Swapping inventory for inventory — valuation, balancing, and shipping.

Where market prices come from (and their limits) — tcgcsv.com daily mirror; what it can and cannot tell you.
The daily email digest — Automatic alerts when market prices move or fall below your break-even.

"Exceeds units on hand as of [date]" — but I have stock! — Stock is counted by event date, not by today.
Why does an order's profit say "pending"? — Presold units have no cost basis until the covering purchase exists.
Where is my data? How do I back it up? — One SQLite file plus an invoices folder.
